Pereira is the capital city of the department of Risaralda. It is nestled in the Otún river valley in the Central Andes, in western Colombia. It is part of the famous Coffee Axis, traditionally the largest coffee producer region in Colombia. Pereira is the most populated city in the region of the Coffee Axis and the second most populated in the Paisa region, after Medellin.
